What Comes After Neoliberalism? Big Tech and Asset Managers as the New Rentiers

Capitalism has changed in a way that is rendering the label ‘neoliberalism’ outdated. The increasing economic and political prominence of Big Tech and asset management corporations has transformed contemporary capitalism in several ways. Most crucially, it has brought the dominance of rent over profit, of appropriation over production. This has affected the fundamental logic of our political economy, thus placing the survival of capitalism in doubt.
